Second semester

Spanish (2nd semester) advanced

Objectifs

Generally speaking, by the end of an optional language course, students will have developed communicative language skills and knowledge:

Targeted knowledge: linguistic (grammar and lexicon) and cultural knowledge to reach CEFR level A2, B1 or B2 in the language taught.
Targeted skills:
Objective 1: Progress in the four language skills – written and oral expression and written and oral comprehension.
Objective 2: Develop cross-disciplinary skills in areas such as openness to the world, social and civic life.
Objective 3 : Prepare future engineers to act in multicultural contexts

Plan

Students will work on all language skills using a communicative approach. Students learn to describe and analyze the cultural contexts specific to the peoples who speak the language studied. They take a step back from their own cultures, opening up to those studied in class to develop soft skills, particularly in the areas of openness to the world, social and civic life, and self-knowledge.

Content varies according to course level and language: from beginners learning the basics to thematic courses for more advanced students. The 6 optional languages on offer focus on communication skills.
