First semester

English 1st semester

Objectifs

Each opening course has its own specific learning outcomes, which are defined in the Curriculum: Optional free courses.

Generally speaking, at the end of an introductory course, the student will have :

Objective 1: Deepen their knowledge of the subject (lexicon, fundamental concepts and theories of the field studied)

Objective 2: Develop cross-disciplinary skills in areas such as human relations and teamwork, self-knowledge, creativity and innovation, intellectual curiosity and openness to the world and to civic and social life.

Plan

The school offers a range of new courses. The courses open in 2022/2023, their content and their assessment procedures are described in the "Programme des enseignements : Optional free courses" available on the ENSAI website.

The overall aim is to encourage students to open up to other disciplines, while developing soft skills in areas such as human relations and teamwork, self-knowledge, creativity and innovation, intellectual curiosity and openness to the world and to civic and social life. In the second semester, the physics course is compulsory (in the first or second year) for engineering students in the Economics and STID streams.

For courses aimed at developing a general culture in a scientific or social science field not covered at ENSAI (Intercultural Communication, Sustainable Development, Geopolitics, Art History, Introduction to Entrepreneurship, Media, Philosophy, Physics Psychology): students work on major themes (of thought, culture, expression and/or science). They assess how ideas influence the character of human thought, the perception of reality and the norms that govern behavior. They construct a point of view that integrates the factors that influence human activity (artistic, historical and/or scientific). They learn to express themselves critically by examining a variety of sources that challenge conventional wisdom.

For courses in an artistic field (Cinema, Drawing, Music, Painting and Theater): students learn to analyze, appreciate and interpret artistic works (pictorial, musical and theatrical), enabling them to observe with a critical eye. They take an active part in artistic creation as part of a joint project (musical and theatrical performances, exhibitions of artistic work).

Assessment of learning outcomes :

The mobilization of knowledge and skills will be assessed through at least 2 continuous assessments, the modalities of which are indicated by the teacher in the "Teaching program: Optional free courses".
